It’s starting: Small Provisional Community
Hey đ
We are Camilla, Elli and Lisa and you just found our blog!
After volunteering in Taizé for a few months all of us decided to join the project called small provisional community. This concept is an idea by the brothers of Taizé. Just like in Taizé we are praying three times a day and moreover we are joining a local project.
On Monday we started our journey to the Lunesdale Community in Lancaster. All coming from different regions of Germany we met in Manchester and continued our trip together. When we arrived at the Lunesdale Community we were warmly welcomed by Anna and Andrew and their children Birgitta and Aiden.
The next day we were excited to start our project and to plan the following weeks. After beginning the day with a morning prayer we went to discover the village Halton with the kids.
In the afternoon we did some research to find social projects where our help might be needed. Luckily we were successful and found organisations like the foodbank and others who support people in need.
On Wednesday we had the chance to do the midday prayer in the chaplaincy of the University.
After that we had soup lunch and bible study with different people from the chaplaincy. It was very interesting due to the diversity of the group. In the afternoon we had a meeting with the responsible woman for a house of hospitality. They offer help to people who are struggling with various problems in their lives. We talked about the project and arranged that we can do some volunteer work twice a week.
We hope you got an idea about the project and we try to keep you updated đ
